This is how we show off

Women-owned

We started with a placeholder name. When we were ready to build the brand, Margarita interviewed people who love to cook and host, and discovered something deeper. "When I put a plate down, I'm waiting for that eyebrow raise, that moment of validation," one friend shared. Another said, "It allows me to show off, something that isn't always allowed as a woman." That hit  home.

Showoff reclaims a word often misunderstood. Where some see bragging or excess, we see love and flavor shared at full volume, just like our abuelas taught us. Because showing off isn't about ego. It's about sharing joy, creating connection, and turning ordinary moments into magic.

So go ahead, raise some eyebrows.

Made to Share

Some gather to eat. We eat to gather. In our kitchen, every meal is a declaration of love, and around our table, everyone belongs. The best flavors are meant to be passed down, passed around, and never kept secret.

Messy & Loud

Salsa macha drips, crunches, and stains the tablecloth–and that’s exactly the point. Real flavor refuses to be contained, just like the best memories are made when you stop holding back and start living out loud.

Extraordinary Magic

True magic looks effortless, like abuela making a perfect dish without measuring a thing. But we know that's pure intention and wisdom. We took generations of that wisdom and created something bold, boundary-pushing, and unforgettable.

Showoff turns up the volume on every bite, transforming quiet meals into can't-stop-talking-about feasts. When you've got something this good, staying humble and keeping it to yourself isn't just difficult—it's impossible.

Meet the founder

Born in Mexico City, raised in the Bay Area, Margarita grew up around crowded tables and in the kitchens (and bars) of her parents' many restaurants and nightclubs.

She watched them build community and learned the best things happen when you stop holding back. Now she’s the friend who picks the restaurant, throws the big parties, and hosts dinner parties during the week just because.

For years, friends kept showing up just for her mom's salsa macha. Some even asked her to teach them how to make it. She obliged. Eventually (and with plenty of nudging from her friends), Margarita realized these recipes were too good to keep to herself. So she didn't.
